The Seven Horse Shoes Hotel in Belturbet is the perfect location to spend your golfing holiday in Ireland as we are surrounded with some of the best golf courses in Ireland. The closest course to us is our local golf club in Belturbet and is within 15 minutes walking distance or two minute drive from our hotel here in Belturbet. It is a par 68, 6118 meter course and is great for beginners or people practising their skills. At nine holes this course is relatively small, the majority of holes are played on elevated greens and this course provides a good test for people of all levels of skill.
Belturbet Golf Course Cavan
Belturbet Golf Club is located just a of a 1/4 mile from the main street of the town on the N3 road. Belturbet is a nine-hole parkland course 5,354 yards in length. Most of the holes on the course are played on to elevated greens, creating a good test for players of differing abilities and levels of skill. Good shots up to the greens will be rewarded with good par’s, however this course has been known to be very challenging. Great shots from the tee’s will be rewarded with hole-able birdie putts. A game here is very good value for money and at €15 – €20 it is the ideal place if you want a fun entertaining round of Golf.
Although this course is relatively short, don’t make the mistake that its an “easy” round. The full 9 holes in total will take at most 2-3 leisurely hours, however this course has a couple of deceptive and challenging holes that can place a good par round in danger. Our visitors not only love this course because of its convenience to our hotel, but simply for its exceptionally challenging and deceptive holes, especially the first and fourth , so we have been told..

The Slieve Russell Golf Course – Cavan
For the more advanced golfer, or you feel like more of a challenge the PGA Championship Slieve Russell Golf Course is only a 7 minute drive from Belturbet. This highly acclaimed 18 hole course is sensitively wrapped around the lakes and drumlins of the Cavan landscape and is a stunning and challenging round of exciting golf. Set within the 300 acre estate of the Slieve Russell Hotel complex, this course has hosted the European Tour events.

The Farnham Estate Golf Course – Cavan
The Farnham Estate Golf Course is a fifteen minute drive from our hotel and is spread over 500 acres of rolling countryside and dense woodland. This 6442 meter par 72 course is set within seven lakes and a beautiful meandering stream, a fairy fort and lots of wild garlic and an abundance of wildlife. The gentle but challenging front nine holes are in good contrast to the more challenging back nine which is a more vigorous test of your golfing skills.

The County Cavan Golf Course – Cavan
County Cavan Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses in Ireland. Founded in 1894, this 18 hole par 70 course stretched over 6,164 yards is a very popular course with our visitors. With only ten minutes drive time from our hotel County Cavan Golf Course is open all year round. Corporate and group bookings are available at competitive rates and there are group discounts available. Buggys and trolleys can be rented also.

The Clones Golf course Monaghan
Clones Golf course is a 20 minute drive through the village of Redhills from us here in Belturbet. This beautiful par 70, 18 hole course in the Hilton Park Estate just outside the town of Clones County Monaghan has been in existence since 1912. This quiet and intimate course is surrounded by majestic woodland and rolling drumlins and offers a unique experience to everybody of any golfing standard.
Green fees start at a very competitive €20 all year round.
Virginia Golf Course – Cavan
Virginia Golf Club is set within beautiful and stunning meadow-land.
This golf course is a nine hole course, even though it is short, it provides adequate tests for all handicaps. While playing these 9 holes, you can take in and thoroughly enjoy the views of the beautiful Lough Ramor and surrounding countryside. This small but surprisingly challenging par 3 course is around 45 minutes from our hotel.

The Ballinamore Golf Course Leitrim
Ballinamore Golf Club was founded in 1941 and is a 30 minute drive from Belturbet. This course has established itself as one of the finest par 70, 9-hole courses in the country. Since its redevelopment, Ballinamore Golf Course has proved popular with locals and many of our visitors.
This stunning course is situated in a quiet clearing of tree-lined hills that occupy the area and along Shannon-Erne canal, which has to be crossed on your way to the first tee from the club house.

Blacklion Golf Course – Cavan
Blacklion Golf Course is a beautiful 9 hole parkland course, over 6164 yards of area, and set on the shores of Lake MacNean. This is a small course but don’t let that detract from its complexity and challenging par 3 tee’s.
This course is around 45 minutes drive time from our hotel and bookings can be made from our reception, as with all the other courses in our locality.

Cabra Castle Golf Course – Cavan
Cabra Castle is just outside Kingscourt and offers you the chance to play on one of the most scenic golf courses in Ireland. This 9 hole golf course is situated within the hotel grounds and offers the most fantastic views of Cabra Castle against the fabulous backdrop of the hotel’s mature gardens and numerous lakes. With a 45 minute drive from us this course is well worth the trip to this historic and beautiful Irish castle steeped in history and stunning grounds. Green fees vary in price for certain times of the year.
